The Principal’s Message for January

Welcome to 2012!  Parents and guardians, we trust you had a wonderful holiday.  Now that the New Year is upon us we are bearing down for the cold months ahead.  More than ever our students are buckling down in their studies.  All students will begin a new literacy pathway next week and will work earnestly to meet their goals and persevere through challenges.  We appreciate your continued efforts to support our number one goal:  academic achievement in literacy!

Parents, as you know, we have a new website!  Many of you will already have access to it via your son or daughter. Please visit our site regularly to see updates on what’s happening at Tumpane.  In addition to our current tech purchases, we have recently purchased three iPads!  These iPads are currently being used by our Special Education and ESL team. At this time, plans for additional iPads will depend on what we plan to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Stay tuned for all the upcoming events! We look forward to seeing parents during our evening and day conferences to discuss the First Term Report Cards.  Evening and Day conferences take place February 16th and 17th.  At the end of February we will be hold our first French Fair!  Parents are invited to come out and celebrate French culture as it is expressed in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and of course, Canada! Voila!!

Best wishes to you from Ms. Dey, Principal.
