Cricket Canada Comes to Tumpane
Over a 3 day period in February all students from grades one to five were able to participate in the sport of cricket with lessons provided by Mr. Jones from Cricket Canada. All students learned the skills of the game including proper bowling, catching and hitting techniques. The students and teachers had lots of fun learning this new sport.
Tumpane Public School looks forward to continuing with cricket when the weather gets a little warmer by having a cricket team that will compete in a tournament against other TDSB schools. More information to follow……
A special thanks to Mr. Jones for all his hard work with the Tumpane students.

A co-ed soccer team of Grade 4 and 5 students won our schools third Family of Schools Soccer Championship in a row. Tumpane Cross Country Runners at Etobicoke Centennial Park
The Tumpane Cross Country team ran their races on October 2nd 2014 at Etobicoke Centennial Park. Students in Grade 3-5 participated in the long distance races and showed great determination in completing the very difficult course. With each race consisting of anywhere from 200-300 students our students faired quite well in their results. The team was very dedicated in attending practice and their training helped improve their stamina. With only a month to prepare for the very long running event this is often not very easy to do. Coaches Haye and Harvey were very proud of all our runners!!!!!
Terry Fox Run
Tumpane students collected over $ 600 for cancer research during our annual Terry Fox Run at Tumpane P.S. Classes brought in their money and ran for 30 minutes each outside in our school yard to see who could run the farthest. Each class did their best but in the end there were two clear winners. For the Primary division the winning class was Ms. Campagna and on the junior side of the school the winners were from Mlle.Given.
The event was a great success, the students had fun but most important we raised a lot of money for a very good cause. Be very proud of yourselves Tumpane community.
