Tumpane raised a total of $3225.94 for Jump Rope this year. The classroom who raised the most money this year was Mlle. Henderson/M. Ghosi’s Senior Kindergarten class. The top 3 pledge earners were Anja Meyer (Kindergarten), Jordynn Baker(Kindergarten), and Misstura Brimah (Grade 2). Prizes will be handed out to all students who raised money for this event as soon as we receive them from the Jump Rope For Heart Foundation. Thanks for all your support, Tumpane students and parents! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Tumpane students from Grades 2-5 participated in the Family of Schools Track Meet at Firgrove Public School on Friday May 23rd. Students competed in a variety of different track and field events bringing home a number of placement ribbons (please see photo above for evidence!!!).
All our competitors showed great skill and sportsmanship throughout the day’s event. I would like to also thank Mlle. Haye for helping train and supervise all the Tumpane students during this wonderful competition.
Again, great job to all the Tumpane athletes who were involved!!!!
Tumpane staff and students were treated to a wonderful jazz concert by the Humber School of Creative and Performaning Arts. Humber College and Jazz FM 91.1 partnered together with TDSB to bring jazz into our schools.
The band consisted of Humber College students ranging from first to third-year of studies, and they performed a wide range of melodies from the history of jazz: from blues to R & B, from Motown to conetmporary hits.
Thanks to Mr. Bellotto for organizing the concert for our school
Congratulations to the Girl’s Soccer Team!
The junior girl’s soccer team recently played a tournament at Amesbury Middle School where they performed very well. They completed the tournament with a record of 3 wins and 0 losses outscoring their opponents 21-3. The girls all showed great skill and sportsmanship during their play and they will now move on to the TDSB West Conference Finals scheduled for June 2nd. Great job girls you represented the school well and we are all very proud of you!

Tumpane students, parents and staff all took part in a school-wide, Math-based learning opportunity last week. Each class prepared a specific math experience to share with the rest of the school. Students participated in each classroom for the afternoon, while some students were leaders responsible for demonstrating their understanding of the math experience and learning goal. We hope everyone had a fantastic day!
Students recently brought home their pledge form for our annual JUMP ROPE FOR HEART CAMPAIGN. Over the last two year our school has raised over $2300 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
We are looking to continue our success by having students collect donations from friends and family over the next couple of weeks. All pledges are due to the school by May 9th when we will be holding our “Jump Rope for Heart Event”outside at the school.
All students will receive a free skipping rope for taking part in this event and additional prizes will be given out depending on what funds the student raises. Don’t forget that donations can also be made on-line (please read the instructions on your pledge form carefully for registration instructions). Any questions, please contact Mr. Harvey.
Let’s raise more than ever this year Tumpane!!!!
